Excavations and earthworks
Bulk dig, reduced levels, garden clearance and muck shifting. The spoil plan is agreed with you before the machine starts, so the site stays workable while the volume comes out.

Excavations, drainage, foundations and site preparation across Newcastle and the North East — for builders, developers and homeowners alike.
Most jobs are a combination of two or three of these. Tell us the end state you need and we will work back from it.
Bulk dig, reduced levels, garden clearance and muck shifting. The spoil plan is agreed with you before the machine starts, so the site stays workable while the volume comes out.
Foul and surface water runs, land drains, soakaways and connections. Trenches dug to line and level, bedded and backfilled properly, ready for inspection.
Strip footings and pad foundations for extensions, garages and outbuildings — dug square to the setting out, to depth, and ready for the inspector.
Stripping, grading and stone sub-base for driveways, bases and hardstanding. Compacted and levelled so the trade behind you starts on something clean.
Turf stripping, re-levelling, terracing and edging preparation — the ground work that has to be right before the landscaper plants, paves or lays lawn.
Plenty of firms will not turn out for a single day on a domestic plot. We will. A soakaway, a patio dig-out, a fence line, a garden re-level — call it in and it gets quoted the same way a site does.
The 1.7 tonne machine goes through a standard gate, so most of these jobs can be done without lifting a fence panel or tracking across a lawn you have just paid somebody else to lay.
Free, no-obligation quote · No job too small to price
Five steps, no account to open, and nothing to pay to find out where you stand.
Call, or send the form with the job, the site and the dates. Photographs of the access help more than anything else you can send.
For anything beyond a straightforward dig we come and look at access, ground and levels — usually within a few days.
Itemised, free and with no obligation, including what happens to the spoil so there is no argument about it later.
An agreed start date, the machine on site, and the plot kept tidy and passable as we go rather than only at the end.
A walk round together, spoil cleared or positioned as agreed, and the site handed back ready for whoever is in behind us.
The five things people ask before they let a machine onto their plot.
Yes. A soakaway, a patio dig-out, a fence line or a garden re-level gets quoted the same way a site does. Trade and private customers are equally welcome.
Either. We take on groundworks packages from setting out through to a finished, compacted base, or we bring a machine and an operator to work alongside your own trades — see operated hire.
For anything beyond a straightforward dig, yes. Access, ground conditions and where the spoil goes decide most groundworks jobs, and none of the three can be judged properly over the phone.
It is agreed before we start: stockpiled on site where you want it, re-used for levelling, or loaded out. Tell us which when you enquire so it is in the quote rather than a surprise halfway through.
Yes. Give us the dates and the sequence you need and we will tell you honestly what we can commit to, including whether the machine can come back for a second visit later in the build.
