What we dig and execute

From a tight garden soakaway to commercial strip footings — the same machine, the same operator, the same standard of finish.

Choosing your hire method

Operated vs self-drive

The difference is who carries the ticket, the insurance and the risk. Everything else — the machines, the buckets, the delivery — is the same either way.

Operated hire compared with self-drive hire, by operator, licence, insurance, buckets, delivery and collection, and what each suits.

Site workflow

How a day runs smoothly

Four steps from arrival to handover. The first two are the ones that decide whether the other two go well.

01

Arrival and site walk

The machine arrives on our trailer at the agreed time. We walk the site with you, agree where the spoil goes and where the machine will stand.

02

Levels and services marked

Levels, lines and any known underground services are marked out before the first bucket. Bring drawings or a service plan if you have them.

03

The dig

Trenches and excavations worked to line and level, spoil stacked where it was agreed, and the site kept passable while we go.

04

Clean handover

A walk round together at the end, spoil left as agreed, machine loaded back on the trailer, and the site handed over tidy.

FAQ

Operated hire, answered

What people ask before booking a machine and an operator together.

No. The operator is ours and the work is covered by our public liability insurance, so you need no ticket and no hired-in plant policy of your own. That is the main reason people choose operated over self-drive.

Yes. Half days and full days are both available, from a single-day domestic soakaway through to several weeks of site preparation. Tell us the job and we will say honestly how long we think it takes.

You do, and we agree it on the site walk before the first bucket comes out. On a tight plot the spoil plan is usually what decides how the whole day runs, so it is worth five minutes up front.

Levels, spoil positions and any known underground services are walked and marked before digging starts. Where drawings or a service plan exist, bring them and we will work to them.

Yes. The Kubota Epiroc KM155 breaker fits either machine and is quoted separately, on top of the hire. Mention it in your enquiry and it goes in the quote.
